Pharmacology

This comprises of two well-known and well-proven compounds: flupentixol, a neuroleptic with depressive and anxiolytic effects at modest dosages, and melitracen, a bipolar thymoleptic with activating qualities in low doses. When the chemicals are combined, they form an antidepressant, anxiolytic, and activating formulation. Flupentixol and melitracen attain their maximum blood concentrations in around 4 hours after oral treatment. Flupentixol has a biological half-life of 35 hours while melitracen has a biological half-life of 19 hours.



Dosage

Adults: Usually 2 tablets orally daily in the morning and noon. In severe cases, the morning dose may be increased to 2 tablets.


Elderly patients: 1 tablet in the morning.



Interaction

Alcohol, barbiturates, and other CNS depressants may be enhanced by this pill. Hypertensive crises may occur if MAO inhibitors are used at the same time. The antihypertensive impact of guanethidine and similar acting substances is reduced by neuroleptics and thymoleptics, whereas the effects of adrenaline and noradrenaline are enhanced by thymoleptics.



Side Effects

Side effects are uncommon at recommended levels. It's possible that you're experiencing transitory restlessness and insomnia.


Pregnancy & Lactation

This tablet should not be taken when pregnant or breastfeeding.


Warnings

If the patient has previously been given tranquilizers having sedative effects, they should be carefully tapered off.

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C in a dry place. Protect from light. Keep out of reach of children.
