Symptoms (Indications)

Mebeverine Hydrochloride 200mg, manufactured by Opsonin Pharma Limited, is a capsule prescribed for symptomatic therapy of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), chronic irritable colon syndrome, spasmodic constipation, mucous colitis (ulcerative colitis), abdominal pain due to colic, and non-specific persistent diarrhea.

Pharmacology

Belongs to the anticholinergic therapeutic class. Well-tolerated and effective in treating symptoms.

Dosage

Mebeverine Hydrochloride 135 mg tablet: 1 tablet 03 times daily. Mebeverine Hydrochloride 200 mg capsule: 1 capsule 02 times daily. Most effective when taken 20 minutes before meals. Gradual dosage reduction after desired effect obtained.

Contradictions

Hypersensitivity to the medication or any of its components.

Side Effects

Generally well-tolerated. Possible adverse effects include skin rash, urticaria, and angioedema.

Pregnancy and Lactation

Animal studies show no teratogenicity. Follow normal precautions during pregnancy. Does not pass into breast milk after therapeutic dose administration.
