Symptoms

Pharmacology

Don-A is a dopamine antagonist that works primarily by blocking receptors located in the chemoreceptor trigger zone and in the stomach.

Dosage

Don-A should be consumed 15-30 minutes before meals.

Interaction

Don-A may reduce the risk of hyperprolactemic effects of bromocriptine.Domperidone-Its action is antimuscarinic and antagonistic to opioid analgesics.

Opposite

Don-A is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the drug and in neonates.

Side Effects

Don-A may produce hyperprolactinemia (1.3%). This may result in galactorrhea, breast enlargement, and soreness, and reduced libido.

pregnancy & Breast-feeding

The safety of Don-A has not been proven and it is therefore not recommended during pregnancy.

Alertness

ince Don-A is highly metabolized in the liver, it should be used with caution in patients with hepatic impairment.
